TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, a known reliable Apple analyst, has released his predictions for what the tech giant will be releasing this year in terms of products.
In a wide-reaching new investor note, the analyst has said that Apple will be releasing new iPads this year, as well as a new Macbook, new iPhones, and several other products.
To start, the new Apple iPhones will have the same size as the iPhone XS and iPhone XR at 6.5″, 5.8″ and 6.1″. According to Kuo, the three phones will continue to have Lightning connectivity instead of a USB-C.
New features to be added to the 2019 iPhones will include ultra-wide band connectivity for indoor positioning and navigation. They will also have frosted glass casing, bilateral wireless charging for charging other devices, an upgraded Face ID with a higher power flood illuminator, larger batteries, and a triple camera design.
Kuo hasn’t been specific however on which phones will have which features but as far as the triple camera design, some past reports note that the iPhone 11 Max will have that feature alone.
Kuo has predicted that two new iPad Pro models will be released this year that will have upgraded processors. The 9.7″ iPad currently will get a boost in size to 10.2″ with a suggested decrease in bezels. The iPad mini is also expected to get an upgraded processor.
The new MacBook Pro is expected between 16 to 16.5″ according to the analyst, with an all-new design to boot. Kuo says that the company will return to the display market with a 31.6-inch 6k3k monitor which will feature a Mini LED-like backlight design, giving it “outstanding picture quality.”
The new Mac Pro is also expected to come with an “easy to upgrade components” this year.
As far as Apple’s iWatch, Kuo predicts that the Apple Watch ECG function will hit more countries this year and there will be new ceramic casing design released.
Airpods 2 will also support wireless charging this year as well as upgraded Bluetooth connectivity. The AirPower charger is also expected to hit in the first half of the year says Kuo. Given Kuo’s track record and accurately predicting Apple product launches in the past, we should be in for some pretty cool upgrades and new features from Apple this year.
