  • Get to know REFLEX Advanced Materials Corp. (RFLXF) now – with its “Made in America for America” natural graphite project in Montana.*
By J. Daryl Thompson

We’re constantly reminded that America is falling behind as a world superpower…

  • The U.S. ranks 10th in education[5]
  • 15th in personal and political freedoms[6]
  • 17th in overall quality of life[7]

While headlines like these are pretty shocking, Americans have always loved a good comeback story, and there’s no better time than now.

The good news is…

The U.S. ranks first in arguably two essential categories:

Military power[8] and, most importantly for investors like you and me, innovation.[9]

This means the United States is at the forefront of our rapidly evolving tech-focused world.

And in order to stay a superpower, it makes the most sense to keep funding that innovation as a country and as an investor.

One of the biggest innovations in the last decade is easy to spot on the highway or maybe even in your garage…

I’m talking about electric vehicles (EVs).

After all, an American company, Tesla, revolutionized the EV and is far and away the leader among the most prominent electric car companies by market capitalization.[10]

BloombergNEF estimates that electric vehicles will become a $7 trillion global market opportunity by 2030…[11]

And an astounding $46 trillion market by 2050.[12]

However, this age of high-tech innovation and EVs is completely dependent on one thing – access to the raw, critical materials and resources to power it.

There’s one “miracle mineral”[13] that’s used significantly more than any other by weight and is absolutely essential to the continued growth and innovation mentioned above…

Graphite.

This rarely talked about mineral helps power everything from energy storage systems to solar panels to military equipment, fuel cells, high-tech electronic devices, and so much more.[14][15]

While the U.S. has fallen way behind in mining this super material, all hope is not lost.

I want to tell you about an amazing American opportunity that has the potential to help us remain a dominant superpower.

Learn about this REFLEX Advanced Materials Corp. (RFLXF) – and its “Made in America for America” graphite project.

It’s not hyperbole to say that, without sufficient graphite, we wouldn’t have lithium-ion batteries at all.

Elon Musk knows how vital graphite is to Tesla’s future, stating matter-of-factly:

“Only 2% of a lithium-ion battery is lithium. They should really be called nickel-graphite batteries because they’re mostly nickel and graphite.[13]

But graphite isn’t just for EVs.

While many folks only associate graphite with pencil lead…

This under-appreciated mineral also helps power everything from energy storage systems to solar panels to military equipment, fuel cells, high-tech electronic devices, and so much more.[17][18]

The Great Graphite Apocalypse

Graphite, a form of carbon, is a relatively common mineral.[19]

So why should it be in short supply, especially in the U.S.?

Well, here’s big reason #1:

There are currently NO graphite-producing mines in North America.[20]

Seems hard to believe, doesn’t it?

But it means that, when it comes to graphite, the U.S. is 100% import-reliant – never a desirable situation.

Which brings us to big reason #2:

We are a slave to China when it comes to our graphite supply.

China controls about 30 of the 45 graphite mines in operation worldwide – and supplies 64% of the world’s natural graphite.[21]

For the last 50 years, China has been a net exporter of graphite. But due to ore depletion and increasing pollution,[22] the communist nation has now become a net importer of graphite to feed its own battery supply chain.[23]

As you can imagine, this leaves the U.S. in a precarious position when China – our geopolitical foe – is hogging the graphite supply for itself.

The whole situation is dire, especially when you realize that:

We need 97 more graphite mines at an average size of 56,000 metric tons per year by 2035 just to keep up with battery demand.[24]

And that’s why today is a great time to look into junior mining exploration company REFLEX Advanced Materials Corp. (RFLXF) – and its flagship “mine to market” graphite project located in the U.S. of A.[25]

A Past Producer of Graphite in Mining-Friendly Montana

Mining has been an essential part of the economy in western Montana.

And that’s where REFLEX (RFLXF) aims to reactivate domestic mining operations of flake and vein graphite, based on a USGS survey of their Ruby property. This survey has shown high-quality graphite material.[26]

The Ruby Graphite Project covers 1,865 acres in southwest Montana and contains 96 Federal lode mining claims.[27a]

The project is located about 14 miles from the town of Dillon, Montana. Dillon is close to airports and rail lines and accessible by freeway from all major cities of Montana, Idaho, and Utah.[28]

And here’s something important: This is a previously-producing mine.

In fact, graphite was produced there from about 1902 to 1948.[29]

But with its history of production, REFLEX (RFLXF) considers the Ruby Graphite Project to be a “low-cost, rapid re-entry” project.[30]

And it has a decided advantage…

Ruby Graphite is the only known combined source of high-purity flake and vein graphite in the U.S.[31]

Vein graphite has greater density, making it more desirable for high-tech applications such as EV batteries and energy storage. Vein graphite also comes straight out of the ground in a more purified and valuable form than other natural deposits.[32]

With fewer steps involved, vein graphite is also much more environmentally friendly.[33]

This is critical since environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors play a growing role in the battery and graphite mining industries.[34]

In general, natural graphite is far less environmentally damaging than a synthetic version of graphite that’s also used for battery anodes. Making anodes from synthetic graphite is not only more expensive but can use 4 times more fossil fuels than natural graphite anode production.[35a]

A “Mine to Market” Graphite Solution

REFLEX (RFLXF) does not consider itself merely a mining company.

It aims to custom process graphite products to exact customer specifications by working with carefully-selected partners, each of whom owns and operates world-class, industrial-scale processing facilities.[36]

With a four-year production goal targeting 10,000 tons per year of custom-processed graphite, REFLEX (RFLXF) has established relationships with over 25 key North American prospective customers.[37]

The company has entered into an agreement with the preeminent graphite laboratory in the U.S. – American Energy Technology Company (AETC) – as a metallurgical partner.[38]

USGS’s sample assays at 95.8% to 98.4% total carbon.[39] This means it can be upgraded to 99.9% purity,[40] cost effectively increasing its applications and value in commercial markets.

An NI 43-101 Technical Report on the Ruby Project has already been completed.[41] An initial drill program is planned for the summer of 2023.[42]

The timing is right…

The U.S. Government is Injecting Billions of Dollars to Ensure the Domestic Supply of Critical Minerals Such as Graphite

In 2022, President Biden directed the Defense Department to consider graphite, along with various other metals, essential to national security.

In his executive order, he also authorized steps to bolster domestic supplies so that the U.S. has sufficient metals needed for EV batteries, heat pumps, and large-capacity batteries used in the electric grid.[43]

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act will invest over $135 billion to build America’s electrified transportation future. This includes sourcing and processing critical battery minerals, including graphite.[44]

Specifically, the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act offers incentives and subsidies to EV buyers and automakers. However, battery makers must use raw materials from North America or a country with which the U.S. has a trade agreement.[45]

This is good news for an American graphite project!

And here’s the icing on the cake…

With graphite still flying under the radar of most investors, REFLEX (RFLXF) is trading for under $1 a share as of April 2023.[46]

Finally, let me remind you why I see…

9 Reasons REFLEX (RFLXF) Could Be the Best “Made in America” Resource Play for 2023*

Of course, despite all these positive factors, mineral exploration remains a speculative and risky venture, and there is no assurance of success.*

Young companies with great stories can still carry significant risks, ranging from being underfunded to having a small number of shares available to the public.

Here are my rules for accepting microcap investing risk:

  • Never invest more than I can afford to lose.
  • Do not chase losses. If the prices slide, resist all temptation to “average down.”
  • Allocate risk capital among a handful of stocks rather than putting all of my dreams into a single microcap.

All that said, I think you and your financial advisor will agree on one thing. REFLEX (RFLXF) could be a headline-making domestic “mine to market solution” stock that deserves your attention.*

I wish you success in your investments.
